Responsible design
This is an alcohol discovery service with points, rewards and venue offers in it. That combination can very easily become something that encourages people to drink more, so the mechanics are built to make that impossible rather than merely discouraged.
The mechanics
You earn by proving a price: a photo, a receipt, a correction. Correcting a price that had gone stale is worth more than any number of visits.
Checking in again at the same venue with the same drink inside an hour earns a tenth of the points. Anybody trying to farm the system by drinking faster gets nothing for it, by construction.
A venue offer cannot be claimed repeatedly, so it can never become "keep drinking, keep earning". Venues can raise the cap only with review.
There is no consecutive-days counter and nothing that counts drinks. Standing at a venue reflects how much you have helped keep it accurate.
One of the questions asked after a check-in is whether you were pushed to order again before you had finished. Where a venue does that consistently, it shows on their profile.
Everyone
Alcohol-free is a top-level category alongside beer, wine and spirits, not a flag buried under beer, because people search for it that way. Guinness 0.0 is a different product from Guinness and the matching engine will never substitute one for the other.
Over 18s only. If drinking is causing you or somebody you know difficulty, Drinkaware (drinkaware.co.uk) offers free, confidential advice.
